what's inspires me? {assignment week 1 - Raining Umbrella}

Tuesday, May 3, 2011

This post is my week 1 assignment for Raining Umbrella by Simply Hue. The topic is about a life story collage - a factor that played a large part in who am I as an artist today.

I am not an artist (yet, may be someday :p) but I am a mom, and my family played a big role to be what I am today. I love my hubby very much, but today collage is pretty much inspired by my only daughter, Dania. Since she was born, she adds color in our life. I am such a proud mom to watch her grows and learns. It is an amazing journey to be a mom, I never stop worried (sometime paranoid), it makes me hurt to only think about what if I cant provide the best, but I never regret to have this journey.

It is funny though that because of her, I indulged my inner talent, I always have a daily job, a corporate career, a busy bee. But since having her, I started to get creative, making things, writing blog (again...the last one is not so inspiring), connect with other creative fun fearless females around the world and someday I would and will have my own small business that I love.
She teaches me life, she makes me to be a better me....

And when I wrote this post, I listened the song from Bruno Mars - just the way you are, It is just a prefect song to describe the way how I feel about her (if the words just ain't enough to explain).

When I see your face
There's not a thing that I would change
Cause you're amazing
Just the way you are
And when you smile,
The whole world stops and stares for awhile
Cause girl you're amazing
Just the way you are

The collage details:
1. Dania picture at her 1st Birthday party, I edit to be a Polaroid using Picnic picture editing.
2. The button, ribbon and embellishment are the simple craft project that I made with my girl friends for our friend wedding car plate - it represent my collage about the color of life.
3. The mini scallop I downloaded here for free digital scrap booking.
4. The color palate I use the simple color generator program here.
5. The overall digital collage I use Notebook software (my software when I conducted the training at work).

I prefer working with real objects and photograph it than using digital collage, event my skill is still poor but I will try to make it for my other creative exercise, the theme is 'Serendipity', and I am instantly get the idea of it :). be right back!
