Bandung with Love

Tuesday, September 13, 2011

I was in Bandung last weekend, not for a holiday but for mission trip. Anyhow our office branch in Indonesia was so kind to make us stay at a beautiful villa on top of the mountain and also arrange several outing program for us.

Bandung is the capital of West Java - Indonesia, The 3rd largest city in Indonesia. Event though my home country is in Indonesia, but Bandung is very far away from my hometown. I only been to that place once at ten years ago. It is so different nowadays and the traffic is sometime unbearable, but I am still in love with the city.

The Dutch called Bandung 'Paris van Java', there are plenty of the perfect blend in between colonial and Sundanese architecture surround the city. Bandung also famous for their gastronomy, there are many cozy restaurant and cafes surround town along with the factory outlet for fashion lover.

Here is some photos from my short visit to 'Paris van Java'....

The Vila that we stayed in the mountain.

The iconic traditional Bamboo instrument (it calls Angklung).

The fertile land blessed with beautiful tropical flowers

Bandung's culinary influenced many by Dutch and Sundanese recipes.
