Wednesday Picks : Amsterdam

Wednesday, July 4, 2012

Today is suppose to be my regular series of Wednesday picks, the series of what inspired me weekly. This time I made it special that I pick a city over a thing. I really do inspired by Amsterdam. When I put my feet down at the land of Amsterdam I immediately in love with the Atmosphere, event though the weather was not that friendly on the day, it was wet and windy and I did not really prepare for those kind of Summer but nevertheless it was still very enjoyable, especially with the great companion that I had.

I stayed for 4 days at the Netherlands but I only spent a day in Amsterdam, I know it really not enough to explore the city, but it also made me to have a reason to come back one day :). I and Yohanna plus her hubby met with Iris for lunch at the city and our day started with cozy lunch at a really good coffee shop called Il Tramenzzino recommended by Iris. They have assorted cold and warm sandwiches and good coffee. The cafe is located in the strategic location of Haarlemmerdijk street within walking distance to the small boutiques and shops. It was fun to shop with the ladies, the rains did not stop us to do shop hopping, and honestly I really can't remember the names of the shops that I visited and I also realize I did not have much pictures of Amsterdam because I was so engross with the shopping, the companion and the city I forgot to snap many pictures. After done with shopping and also the rain got really hard at a time, we decided to have our coffee at random place called Van Harte and turned out to be a really cozy place. I love the bitterbalen and the cheese platter that they served. Iris left for meeting with her in laws after the coffee so left me, Yohanna and Hubby continued to stroll the city, the only tourist attraction that I wanted to go was actually Anne Frank huis, but the queue was too long, then we opted for Tulip Museum and just in time when we stepped at the door, the cute guy in the museum put up the closed sign haha... we ended up to go to the cheese museum beside the Tulip museum, I love cheese so I kinda of enjoy the visit.

After that our last visit was Amsterdam centrum and also where the red light district located, not so appropriate to describe about the place at here, but if you really opted for Asian food, I saw so many Asian restaurant especially Chinese behind the district and they are all looked yummy :).

One day trip is definitely not enough to explore the city. So I will be back to visit and  fall in love again with the city.... I hope you enjoyed the picture that I posted to give you a glimpse of the atmosphere that I managed to capture with my camera during rainy day...Have a good day, friends. Remember to live life to the fullest!
