A little thought on Monday + {cupcake making}

Monday, October 22, 2012

I had a fun weekend with my daughter making and decorating cupcake for the first time for both of us :). While doing this activity my hubby just gave me a blank look on how he was going to do the cleaning after the mess haaa...

Like I mentioned in the previous post, I never bake a single cake before. It gives me a skeptical feeling for whatever cake that I bake will end up in a mess. It is so negative over such a simple step, right? so I finally decided to try one. Nothing fancy, just bought a ready mix from the supermarket and used my basic baking equipment that I had for a long time and never use them at all. It was actually turn out not bad at all. Well, my first batch of cupcakes were over flow. The instruction did not mention that we shall put the batter inside the cup cake liner half of the size, instead of I poured full on it. Then half way on the baking process my batter over flow to the tray, I had to scoop the excess. Fool me, I shall know the basic principle though... it called self raising flour, so it will raise in the first place...duh! The second batch just did well and good. Lesson learned! I event had more confident to bring them to the breakfast gathering with my girl friends on the next day :).

However, lesson learn, we must not be afraid to try something new, baby step is a huge achievement, and shall enjoy the process to getting there.... My daughter enjoyed very much decorating my messy cupcake. She is the biggest supporter, because whatever I made she always praise me with pride...awww... my little sweet cake...

Here she started decorating it...

Then she tasted the sweetness...

Curious about the colorful sprinkles and the new texture that she never touched before.

She always think that every cake she eats means her birthday day, so she insisted on candle lit.

She was excited to taste her cake creation.

Proud mommy! these might not be the best cup cake in the world, but it made and decorated with love...

Happy Monday everyone, I hope your week will be as bright and colorful as the cupcake sprinkle :)
