Weekend at Singapore

Thursday, May 23, 2013

Hello  friends, I have been occupied with works lately, but I managed to have a short weekend holiday in Singapore last week. I flew from KL to Singapore last Saturday morning and came back on Sunday evening...phew! It was a short trip but it was fun, it was merely a gastronomy weekend gateway.

I met my girl friends from Jakarta, they spent their few days in Singapore. However, when I reached the Lion city in the morning, they were gone for a half day trip to Johor Bahru, Malaysia (about an hour from Singapore by bus), so I decided to spend my Saturday with my beloved Singaporean friend.

I am often going to Singapore for works or pleasure. But I do not really favor city center area. I am glad that my friend brought me to the suburb neighborhood area this time. Our agenda...oh well... typical, just walk for street shopping and explore street snacks :). If you game for street shopping, then if you visit  Singapore, you may want to explore Bugis street, the fashion is a little bit too young for me, but it is still fun. Heavy in Korean and Taiwanese fashion influences, though.

Here is a few pictures showing my few fave snacks :). I must credit my friend for being a model of the tofu fries :). Soon after our last eatery schedule, which is Katong Singapore Laksa, I was departed from her and met my Indonesian friends at Clark Quay for our Pork rib dinner in one of the cafe by the river.

Tomorrow is a holiday here, so I would like to say an early happy weekend!
